Meals for the Growth and Development of the Young

meals-for-the-growth-and-development-of-the-youngEvery parent and guardian’s prayer comes true when they see their young ones be happy as they grow and develop. From the moment they were a gurgling infant to a giggling toddler and then an excited kid. We want the best for them and strive to provide it to them.

Providing them healthy meals allows us to supply them with the needed nutrients to thrive and develop properly. So, what are the foods a nursery school recommends to give to your kids to ensure that?

Their meal must consist of a wide variety of these five food groups: vegetables, fruits, grains (nuts and seeds), dairy, and proteins. Here are some examples of specific foods from each of the food groups daycare in Louisiana suggests:

  • Vegetable food group:
beets, carrots, cucumber, peas, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, spinach, and tomatoes.
  • Fruits food group:
apple, avocados, bananas, grapes, mangoes, orange, plums, and strawberries.
  • Grains, nuts, and seeds food group.
The grains are corns, couscous, oats, rice, and quinoa. For nuts are almonds, peanuts, and walnuts. And lastly, seeds suitable for mixing are chia and sesame.
  • Dairy food group:
    cheese, milk, and yogurt.
  • Protein food group:
beans, chicken, eggs, fish, hummus, lentils, tofu, turkey, and other plants known to be high in protein.

We at Creative Minds Preschool of Youngsville believe that the care and education of our young should be approached as holistic as we can.
