Setting New Year’s resolutions is a common tradition among adults in the New Year. We see to it that we have accomplished all of them or most of them before the year ends. It is one of the effective ways to set goals for the entire year and end the year more fulfilled. But this time, why not include our child and encourage them to make resolutions, too? It’s not only a fun activity, but it also promotes a sense of responsibility in them, knowing that they have goals set to accomplish.
ere are some new year’s resolutions or goals that will bring good benefit in children:
If your child is not so keen on reading, now is the best time to encourage them to try to read more this new year. Reading is not only fun, but it also makes children smarter. At Creative Minds Preschool of Youngsville, we do our best to promote learning activities in children while allowing them to enjoy at the same time. We are a Preschool in Youngsville, Louisiana that provides a range of quality child care services in a happy and educational environment.
- Avoid unhealthy foods.
For some children, it is often difficult to encourage them to choose fruits and vegetables over unhealthy foods such as junk foods, processed foods, or high-calorie foods. As a Childcare in Louisiana, we encourage families to shift to healthy food choices this New Year. Make it a habit to prepare fruits and vegetables in the table, and over time, children will love them more. Most importantly, eat together as much as possible.
- Limit screen time.
Technology has become more ubiquitous and useful nowadays. There is a lot of enjoyment that comes with technology. However, unsupervised and prolonged use of technology often leads to negative impacts such as digital addiction, obesity, sleep deprivation, and mental health issues. Starting this New Year, it is best to discipline and limit children when it comes to technology use whether they are at home or at the daycare.
